HOW DO I KNOW THAT I WILL NOT MARRY THE WRONG SPOUSE?

Introduction:A. Dear young brother / sister I invite you to think that a good marriage can contribute to your salvation. (John 17: 3, 2 Corinthians 4: 2)B. But it is also true that a bad partner can lead you to perdition. (2 Corinthians 6: 14-16)

                 -in a Christian concert (Matthew 7:21)

                 -Praying in a church (Matthew 7: 22,23, 2 Corinthians 11:13)[Let's see some biblical examples of men servants of the Eternal but who made a bad choice ...]1. This was the weakness of the strongest manA. God filled Samson with physical strength (Judges 13: 24-25).B. But the Philistines (Judges 14: 3) and Delilah were their weakness (Judges 16: 4-6).C. You are not Samson, so if you choose an ungodly relationship, a Delilah or are unequally yoked in your life ...

     a. They may abandon you when you are sick.

     b. It may be that they abandon you in poverty.

     c. It may be that they abandon you in the test. (Proverbs 31: 3a)

     d. You may be left alone because they do not like to serve the Creator.

2. This was the sin of the most faithful kingA. King David was a man according to the heart of God (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22).B. But by spying on the wrong woman and abusing the marriage of Bathsheba was the cause of his saddest sin (2 Samuel 12: 13-14).C. You are not David, so if you choose a Bathsheba in your life ...

    a. It may be that you are unfaithful to you too. (Proverbs 12: 4)

     b. It may be that it carries some sad consequence.

     c. It may be that your relationship is unpleasant to God.

     d. Do not look for what you have not lost.

3. This was the wisest man's mistakeA. No one has been wiser than Solomon (1 Kings 3: 10-12).B. But the women led him to make many mistakes (1 Kings 11: 1-4) ...


C. You are not Solomon, so if you choose women of the world in your life ...

      to. It may be that they separate you from God.

      b. It may be that you stop speaking the Word of God in order to speak like the world.

      c. It may be that your children are like the pagan princes.ConclusionA. With all humility we must accept that ...

     to. We are not the strongest.

     b. We are not the most faithful.

     c. We are not the wisest.B. So we must be very careful when choosing a partner. We have the example of a young man who, without being the strongest, faithful or wise, made a good choice for his life: Joseph (Genesis 39: 7-12) ...

     ato. He cared to please God even though he was ordained to marry an Egyptian daughter of a
         Pagan priest.

     b. He cared about the consequences that his election would bring.

     c. He fled from a situation that maybe he could not control.

     d. When marrying is for life and divorce is NOT accepted (Matthew 5: 31,32; 19: 3-9)

     And. If you were married and the one of your couple is a non-believer, you can not separate and / or divorceC. The Eternal Father puts us with the person who should be with us, but not the one we want, they may not attract us or there may be no chemistry, the same thing happened to Hosea (Hosea 1: 2,3), so let's be careful what we ask for as a couple.D. If you marry someone from a different yoke (faith) or who you married before you knew the gospel and the Savior and your partner does not like to serve God; then you can not seperate  (1 Corinthians 7: 12-17)E. Do not leave the beautiful little details you did to get the other person's attention; because routine cools and sickens the relationship (Proverbs 5:18, Ecclesiastes 9: 9)
