How to prepare for the Sabbath and What we SHOULD do on the Sabbath

How to prepare for the Sabbath

Yesterday (Thursday) we prepared 2 rice dishes and soup, 1 with vegetables and it is like a Greek rice dish.  The second is rich with peanut butter and curry, and vegetables.

(Vegetables from the garden: Carrots, Onion, Spinach, Green Pepper, Tomato, Swiss Chard, Brocolli Leaves)

(Dumplings:  Flour, water and olive oil)

The soup is on low in a Crock Pot, and has Chicken, dumplings, potatoes, carrots, and things from the garden. We made a Hibiscus and Ginger Tea, in a large pitcher.  We washed clothes also.  Bought bread for the weekend.  When we arrived last night, we had a bit of the soup with dumplings and some cooked plantains.  I made pancakes for the Sabbath.

Friday Morning (Today) : Swept the house, took out trash, boiled 4 eggs, washed the dishes, cleaned the bathroom and took out the trash.  Later this morning we will buy a pineapple to mix into the second rice dish.  That will be heated late this afternoon for Sabbath dinner.

We will also super heat water and put it in a thermos so we can have hot drinks.    We will stop all cooking all cleaning, and all activities as dusk approaches.

From there, we will begin praying, and putting as much from this world away from us.  The Sabbath will be spent at 1 location, we will not go out or leave again until after dusk completes tomorrow.  We will be together, but without physical contact until after Sabbath completes.
