How to Receive the Blessings from the Father

(Psalm 86)

Introduction

-> God has promised many blessings (Proverbs 28:20).

-> But we can not cross our arms and wait for them to arrive alone (Proverbs 21:25).

1. To keep our souls (Matthew 6: 10-13)

A. We must be pious (v. 2).

B. We must seek holiness so that the Father keeps our souls in purity (1 Thessalonians 5: 22-23).

2. To be saved

A. We must trust him (v. 2).

B. We must trust that the Father can save us to receive his rewards (Hebrews 11: 6).

3. To receive mercy

A. We must cry out to him (verse 3).

B. We must pray with insistence to reach mercy (Matthew 7: 7-8).

4. To receive joy

A. We must deliver our souls (v. 4).

B. We must learn to be content with the things that the Father gives us and learn to be happy by worshiping Him (Philippians 4: 11-13).

Conclusion 

A. We all want to enjoy the blessings of the Father. (Matthew 20:16)

B. But how many are willing to do something to receive them? (Romans 8:28)
