The Feast of Tabernacles is a commanded Feast, even in the end times. We must do it. We are in the first day after Yom Kippor. We are now in a new Jewish year. We now return to the transit through the desert. What did the Israelites do? They lived in tents for 40 years. This tent is called a Sukkot.
The lesson of the desert was that the Israelites rebelled and complained even as they were being delivered. So they had to wait in the desert in tents and wandering. Then, they were led to the land of Israel. So, we should rejoice that we are able to goto the promised land, even after suffering in the desert. We should not complain even when in trouble, nor should we rebel. We should rejoice, every day in what we have been given and say thank you with gratitude.
This year, at sundown (15th of Tishrei, 5779, begins the feast of Tabernacles.
What does scripture say, and what are we supposed to do?
34 Speake vnto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seuenth moneth, shall be the feast of Tabernacles for seuen dayes vnto the Lord.
35 On the first day shalbe an holy conuocation: ye shall doe no seruile worke therein.
Since the seventh month of the Jewish caledar is the month of Tishri, we are in this month now. We just finished Yom Kippor. So, we should get ready for the Feast of Booths/Tabernacles. On the first day, that would be Sunday, September 23 at sundown, we can do no servile work until after Sundown on Monday the 24th. The feast is to be for 7 days. That means it will end on: Monday October 1, at sundown.
But, scripture also says:
King James Bible 1611, Leviticus 23:
39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seuenth moneth when yee haue gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keepe a feast vnto the Lord seuen dayes. On the first day shall bee a Sabbath, and on the eight day shall bee a Sabbath.
So the first day, Sunday 23 at dusk-Monday the 24 at dusk is a Shabbat. If we count the days, that makes Monday October 1 at dusk until Tuesday October 2 at dusk also a Sabbath.
What else does scripture tell us to do?
King James Bible 1611, Levciticus 36-37:
36 Seuen dayes ye shall offer an offring made by fire vnto the Lord, on the eight day shall be an holy conuocation vnto you, and ye shall offer an offering made by fire vnto the Lord: It is a solemne assembly, and ye shall doe no seruile worke therein.
37 These are the feasts of the Lord which ye shall proclaime to be holy conuocations, to offer an offering made by fire vnto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, & drinke offerings, euery thing vpon his day;
Say what? We have to offer by fire? What do we need to offer?
Since Christ was our lamb, we do not need to kill and sacrifice. But we do need to make a fire each night of the 8 nights, and offer all that we would eat, and drink (Clean foods) or make , a portion into our fire with prayer.
What else do we need to do? What does scripture say?
King James Bible 1611, Leviticus 23:
41 And yee shall keepe it a feast vnto the Lord seuen dayes in the yeere: It shalbe a Statute for euer in your generations, ye shall celebrate it in the seuenth moneth.
42 Ye shall dwell in boothes seuen dayes: all that are Israelites borne, shall dwell in boothes;
43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in boothes, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
We have to live/dwell in tents/booths for 7 of the 8 days.
We must do this. It says it is a "Statute" forever in your generations.
What else?
King James Bible 1611, Leviticus 23:
40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughes of goodly trees, branches of Palme trees, and the boughes of thicke trees, and willowes of the brooke, and yee shall reioyce before the Lord your God seuen dayes.
We are to rejoice with branches that are nice and of a good form. We are to have the branches from the first day until the last.
What else?
King James Bible 1611, Numbers 29:
39 These things ye shall doe vnto the Lord in your set feasts, besides your vowes, and your free will offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meate offerings, and for your drinke offerings, and for your peace offerings.
Wait, what is this? We are also to make free will offerings to others during this time to help them. We are to renew and fulfill our vows at this time, with our offerings.
What else?
King James Bible 1611, Deuteronomy 16
12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt obserue & do these Statutes.
13 ¶ Thou shalt obserue the feast of Tabernacles seuen dayes, after that thou hast gathered in thy corne, and thy wine.
14 And thou shalt reioice in thy feast, thou, and thy sonne, and thy daughter, and thy man seruant, and thy maid seruant, and the Leuite, the stranger, and the fatherlesse, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
15 Seuen dayes shalt thou keepe a solemne feast vnto the Lord thy God, in the place which the Lord shall chuse: because the Lord thy God shall blesse thee in all thy increase, and in all the workes of thine handes, therefore thou shalt surely reioyce.
16 ¶ Three times in a yeere shal all thy males appeare before the Lord thy God, in the place which hee shall chuse: in the feast of Unleauened bread, and in the feast of Weekes, and in the feast of Tabernacles: and they shal not appeare before the Lord emptie.
17 Euery man shall giue as hee is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God, which he hath giuen thee.
Say what? We have to remember we have been under bondage, slavery and work. Again, we are told we must do this feast. We are told, that it is not just Jewish people, but everyone. And again that we need to give freewill offerings, every man as he is able, and that no man may appear in this feast without bearing a thing to be used, according to what the man is able to have and provide.
King James 1611, Nehemiah 8
14 And they found written in the Law whith the Lord had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in boothes, in the feast of the seuenth moneth:
15 And that they should publish and proclaime in all their cities, and in Ierusalem, saying, Goe foorth vnto the mount, and fetch Oliue branches, and Pine branches, and Myrtle branches, and Palme branches, and branches of thicke trees, to make boothes, as it is written.
16 ¶ So the people went foorth, and brought them, and made themselues boothes, euery one vpon the roofe of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the streete of the water-gate, and in the streete of the gate of Ephraim.
17 And all the congregation of them that were come againe out of the captiuitie, made boothes, and sate vnder the boothes: for since the dayes of Ieshua the sonne of Nun, vnto that day, had not the children of Israel done so: and there was very great gladnesse.
18 Also day by day from the first day vnto the last day, he read in the booke of the Law of God: and they kept the feast seuen dayes, and on the eight day was a solemne assembly according vnto the maner.
Say what? Each day the Bible, or book of the law (That is Leviticus, and the other books of the Torah)
They were read each day to the people, and they sat under their tents/booths. They had branches that they used also to make their booths/tents with out of Olive, Pine, Myrtle, and Palm Trees. That they were solemn about their feast, but they also rejoiced.
In a Bible book that tell of the end days, it also talks about the Feast of Tabernacles. What does it say?

King James Bible 1611, Zechariah 14:
16 ¶ And it shall come to passe that euery one that is left of all the nations which came against Ierusalem, shall euen goe vp from yeere to yeere to worship the King the Lord of hostes, and to keepe the feast of Tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that who so will not come vp of all the families of the earth vnto Ierusalem, to worship the King the Lord of hostes, euen vpon them shall be no raine.
18 And if the family of Egypt goe not vp, and come not, that haue no raine: there shall bee the plague wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not vp to keepe the feast of Tabernacles.
19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not vp to keepe the feast of Tabernacles.
20 ¶ In that day shall there be vpon the bels of the horses, Holines Unto The Lord, and the pots in the Lords house shall bee like the bowles before the Altar.
It talks about the time after the war, specifically World War 3. What does it say? It says in the end time that all people must come up even to Israel to worship the King, the Lord of Hostes, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
And paraphrasing here, anyone who does not keep the Feast of Tabernacles will have a curse.
So, what can we conclude? We must:
1. Observe and do the Feast of Tabernacles
2. We must follow all parts of it
3. We must worship our King during this time
4. We must not come empty handed
5. We must rejoice, but in a solemn manner
6. We must live outside in tents/booths
7. We must burn a portion of what we will eat or drink each time in a fire
8. We must read the law
9. We must observe 2 Sabbaths
10. We must pray
11. We need to cook outside, live outside
12. We must use good smelling and looking braches to build our tents/booths with, and we must also rejoice with the same type of branches.
Really? Yes. It is a way for us to be reminded that we could be in the desert, and have nothing but what the Father gives us. In this end time, it is even more important to put aside all things and remind ourselves what is really important.
How do we do the Sukkot?
We live outside for the commanded time. We make a booth, cook, sleep, rest, outside. We try to follow the law as much as possible. The religious add to and take away from what is the law.
