This is a unique Sabbath for the year. We go from repenting, being broken, from our sins and misdeeds, entering a new year, and walking toward entering the desert toward the promised land. As we repent and learn our lesson, we then sin again. We are then punished again. When will we learn to sin no more?
The consequences of sin are death. Eternal death. If we sin willingly, then we are less likely to have forgiveness. To sin knowingly is such a big thing. If you were the Father, would you forgive us? This bring us to the concept of Agape. Eternal, unchanging love. However, there are some that do not choose the love, and continue to sin. We all will have been given ample time to repent. We have thousands of years of examples of punishment for being sinful, and yet, we choose to sin. So, will you choose to repent, and not sin any more? We do not love Christ if we continue to sin.
Listen, that is why the Israelis, my people, wandered in the desert for 40 years. That is why they were attacked by fiery serpents. There are many examples. That is why thousands of years of punishments have come down. Even my grandmother was in the Holocaust. I am of the line of Cohen, Levy, of the the tribe of Benjamin. Yes, the priestly line. I am the last of my line. Even in my life I have been punished for sin. We have to make a choice. We must repent if we want salvation. We must choose to sin no more, and follow the law completely in the love of Christ or we will receive the ultimate punishment. There will be no turning back, because we will have had enough time to choose. Even after 40 years in the desert, the people started to sin again. Is our memory so short that we do not get it?
So, this Sabbath we are in front of the Feast of Tabernacles, or the desert. In front of us lays the promised land. What will we choose?
We see the signs, they show us that we are near summer, and the fig tree is bringing forth leaves. As the time passes, we know fruit will appear. When the fruit appears, it will be too late to change, to repent. I urge you to choose today. Change your way and your path, repent.
This day we will go home in sorrow, for so many believe all they have to do is believe as the one who died on the cross next to Christ appeared to do. He also repented. The problem is that he died with no sin, because he was forgiven then. But if we choose to not follow the law as Christ instructed and to be more righteous than the Scribes and Pharisees, we have chosen to SIN. So, if we repent, are forgiven, and then choose to sin, we do not remain forgiven.
So in this sorrow we will go home early, continue to pack our things for our move in the desert time, begin to prepare for our Sukkot or booth outside that we will live in starting Sunday Night for the commanded time. I.e., we have chosen the law, and to love enough to keep the commandments. What will you do?
Starting at dusk tonight, we will observe the commandment of keeping the Sabbath Holy. That means: No buying, no selling, no working, no one working for you, no lighting a fire. Do you love Christ enough?
So when we arrive, my wife Devorah and I, we will clean, cook, and have everything right before dusk.
Are you ready for Shabbat? Are you ready to put aside everything of this world and worship our Creator, our KING?
Our plans for today's preparation for the next 24 hours:
Father, oh Abba, I ask that you would open the eyes and change the hearts. You sent me out in search of your lambs. I am here, and yet few listen or come. I know the blood will run, and overflow as it is written, I know we are not worthy. I know it is only by your amazing and everlasting grace and love and obedience to you that we can be saved. Here we are Father. Cleanse our lips with the fiery coal, and enter us into the sanctuary, and let us be apart from the evil on this thy Sabbath. Please let us be covered and hidden from the things that roam on this thy destroyed garden. I call on you and beg, how much longer Father?
